Hi! My name is Aseel M. Bala and I grew up in Muscat, Oman where I received my bachelor’s degree from Sultan Qaboos University in chemical and process engineering. I’m currently in my 4th year of the PhD program at Michigan State University and expecting to graduate within the next year.
Over the last few years, I have had several important experiences that served to broaden my engineering perspective, from a summer internship at Petroleum Development Oman to a teaching and scholarship fellowship here at Michigan State. Among the most valuable has been my role as a graduate research assistant working with Dr. Carl T. Lira (and several collaborators in industry) to improve thermodynamic modeling of solutions that hydrogen bond by leveraging tools such as spectroscopy and quantum simulations.
As an avid learner, I am excited to begin working with experts in process modeling and optimization in an environment where I can contribute my knowledge and further refine my skills.
Please feel free to contact me for more information.
